Questions & Answers
Question: Is this saw tough enough to be used on a full time daily basis for installing trim?
Answer: The saw is absolutely tough enough–it’s whether you have a big enough battery to get you through 8 hours (my definition of ‘all day’). I use a 60V 6ah, or a 9ah battery and it does the trick.
Question: Will any dewalt 20v max battery, 4.0ah (dcb204) work with this saw? thank you
Answer: Yes, all DEWALT 20V batteries will work with the DCS361M1. Please note recommended is DCB204 4 Ah/Amp and higher Ah/Amps.

Contractor since 1985; retiring progressively as I finish renovating our own house. I’m into the Bosch, Dewalt, Makita for my main arsenal. Needed a portable Sliding miter saw.
This one is a great second saw for portability on the four levels from attic to basement and into tight spaces. Absolutely no regrets.
Hi highly recommend this, and all Dewalt products I have purchased so far.
PROS:
Value
Portability: Balance OK – Weight OK
Ergonomy
Good Power / Battery Ratio

Though I have a larger Makita and a Bosch Gravity Stand, I used an old smaller Craftsman Miter saw on plywood and horses more often for trim because it was lighter to move around. The Makita/Bosch combo can’t be beat but is heavy and takes up a lot of space. The Dewalt is a great little saw, easy to set the miter or bevel and cuts true. Using the compact Dewalt stand with the new saw. Easy to set up and move around–can carry it up a flight of stairs and set up closer to where the work is.

I’m very happy with the performance of this little saw. For years I’ve lugged around my big 12″ chop saw to different jobs. Quite often it was way more than I needed. Now this saw fits in the cab of my truck and can easily be carried around to different sites. I haven’t had any issues with a lack of power as of yet and I’ve made a lot of cuts and still on my first battery charge. Recommended highly to anyone who does weekend projects or side jobs.
